{Friday, October 10, 2008 . Siong Week}

Today I can finally book out after the tiring week.

Monday we have our compass course.
Navigating in the forest on our own.
But luckily the area covered was small.
Its uphill and slope and after a rain.
Fall down more than 20 times when navigating at night. (without light)
But it was fun and I am in the first wave of trainees to come out from the forest at night.

Tuesday we have navigation practical and theory test.
Theory was ok for me.
But practical was siong again.
Climbing uphill and down slope.

Wednesday we have IPPT test.
Got a pass only because of my sit-up again.
And once again Im the only one in my company that cannot do sit-ups.
Girls can do better than me. (Lose face)
We also have SAW Live firing.
The weapon is almost about the same as machine gun.
Shoot very fast.
Shoot until very late.
Sleep at 12plus and wake up 5 plus next morning again.

Thursday we have our "outing".
Navigation exercise inside Mandai Forest.
Bashing through the forest with our SBO and rifle.
The feeling of real soldier.
Got cut by thorns and twigs.
But the most wonderful thing is.
After the exercise.
My section mates and I catch fireflies.
It was so romantic at night.
I hope my dear was with me.
After catching, we release all the fireflies together.
It was a very fulfilling exercise.
Experiencing the wonder of nature.

As for today, we learn our new weapon.
Have some siong training.
Then book out.

Next monday we will be going Mandai Forest again.
This time round will be on our own without sergeant following us.
And lesser people in one team as compare to the previous one.
The night will be a long one.
Pray hard that I will not "HoLan" (mean LOST in army term)

And lastly and most importantly, hope my dear will recover soon.

=)
